Whats On Calendar

Gleneagle’s story began in 1957, when a young Killarney family opened their doors to guests at a modest country house. From those early days, music, conversation and a warm Irish welcome became part of the Gleneagle experience. Today, that same spirit lives on through our residents’ entertainment, with live music and nightly entertainment bringing guests together throughout the year.

The original house, formerly known as Flesk House, was built in the 1830s. When Paddy and Sheila O’Donoghue purchased the property in 1956, they envisioned more than a hotel. They imagined a place filled with guests, music and community. That vision helped shape Gleneagle into one of Ireland’s best-known entertainment destinations, where generations of visitors have come to enjoy great company, memorable performances and the unique atmosphere of a stay in Killarney.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE MUSIC OF DIRE STRAITS

Former Dire Straits member Chris White and six world class musicians

In 1995, Dire Straits played their final shows – and for millions of fans, it felt like the end of an era. Yet their timeless songs never stopped capturing hearts. Now, The Dire Straits Experience brings that music roaring back to life.

Praised around the globe as the closest you’ll ever get to the original, The Dire Straits Experience recreates the magic with stunning authenticity. Chris White himself says that Terence Reis is the only artist who can match the vocal and guitar mastery of Mark Knopfler – and that’s a statement from someone who knows.

With a line-up of musicians who have performed alongside Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, and Mike Oldfield, every performance is a celebration of one of the greatest rock bands in history.

The music is still alive - don’t miss it.

In the Media
“From the first note that leaves his lips, from the first caress of his fingers across the guitar strings, you know he is doing the impossible. Terence Reis brings Dire Straits completely back.”
— Cultuurselect

“By now it was clear that this would be an evening of music performed with the precision of a Swiss watch, with palpable joy, intensity, and virtuosity (…) The Dire Straits Experience is rock solid.”
— Rootstime
