Gleneagle’s story began in 1957, when a young Killarney family opened their doors to guests at a modest country house. From those early days, music, conversation and a warm Irish welcome became part of the Gleneagle experience. Today, that same spirit lives on through our residents’ entertainment, with live music and nightly entertainment bringing guests together throughout the year.

The original house, formerly known as Flesk House, was built in the 1830s. When Paddy and Sheila O’Donoghue purchased the property in 1956, they envisioned more than a hotel. They imagined a place filled with guests, music and community. That vision helped shape Gleneagle into one of Ireland’s best-known entertainment destinations, where generations of visitors have come to enjoy great company, memorable performances and the unique atmosphere of a stay in Killarney.
